Bio (?!)
I was born in the Northeast U.S. and moved to the Southeast when I was fairly young. I grew up in the south but my family were clearly Yankees. Let's just say that I like grits, sweet tea and pastrami on rye.
I joined the U.S. Air Force just out of high school, got married when I was 19 (I'm still married to the same girl) and deployed to Saudi Arabia during the Persian Gulf War. I got out of the Air Force in the early 1990's.
After I got out of the Air Force I took a job at a recording studio where I learned high-end audio production skills and how professional media production was generally done. In 1995, I decided to branch out to television and video production so I found a job at WSRE TV, a PBS affiliate in Pensacola, Florida. About a year later, I accepted a position at a high-profile film and video post production company in Nashville, TN where I worked on regional and national TV shows and commercials.
In 1998, I took what I had learned about audio and TV production and started a multimedia production company with a partner. In a few years we built our company into a full-fledged advertising, marketing and public relations firm serving the entertainment and publishing industries.
In 2004, I sold my part of the company to my partner to get away from the long hours that tend to inherently come with advertising and production. For a change of pace, I took a job as the Creative Director for a record company in Nashville.
in 2005, I set out with the goal of starting a new career. I took a job working for the U.S. Army and have been with the Army ever since in a few different positions that have brought me from Fort Rucker, Alabama to as far away as Camp Zama near Tokyo, Japan and Yongsan Garrison in Seoul, Republic of Korea where I created the U.S. Army Korea Media Center.
Now I work in Public Affairs at the Headquarters of the U.S. Army Installation Management Command in San Antonio, Texas. I have enjoyed having the ability to travel for my job in the last few years and I hope to travel more in the years to come.
Hobbies
I take photos and make short videos for fun. I like to build unusual vehicle fabrication projects. I have 35 hours of private pilot training and hope to get my Private Pilot Certification sometime in the not-too-distant future. I am a musician and singer. I play drums (well), bass (enough to get by) and guitar (horribly).
